Digital Learning for Border Schools: EEF & PTC Foundation Launch Project PEHAL

On 13th November, 2019, an MoU was signed by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) and Extramarks Education Foundation (EEF) with Honorable District Commissioner of Siaha district to improve the quality of education by implementing Digital Classrooms in the Government Schools of Siaha District, Mizoram, under Project PEHAL. It was signed by Honorable DC of Siaha District, Shri Bhupesh Chaudhary IAS, Deputy General Manager (CSR) GAIL, Mr. Sanjay Gupta and Vice-President (EEF) Mr. Alok Sinha.
This association will go a long way in scaling up the quality of education in North East region and development of schools in rural peripheral villages. The state of Mizoram is named as one of the ‘Aspirational Districts’ where concerted efforts are made to improve performance of districts which are pockets of under-development. We thank GAIL and Government of Mizoram for extending support in this noble mission.
Project Details:Under this project, 12 digital classrooms will be implemented and capacity building would be facilitated through pedagogy and technology based training for a period of three years. Under the ‘ Train the Trainer Programme, teachers-mentors and PEHAL student monitors would be trained within the Government schools of Mizoram for sustainability.
